Adrian W@cliffwade Although I currently run a very (very!) old Mac Pro that’s more or less maxed out with CPU, memory and storage, the new Mac Mini still looks quite tempting as a replacement. Pull the disks from the old machine, put them in an external Thunderbolt/USB-C chassis and connect that to a base model Mini (or maybe one with a slight memory upgrade).
That’ll save me loads of under-desk space and probably serve me well for the foreseeable future. Hmmm…
@adrianww I'm wanting an M4 Mac Mini so bad right now. I've never owned a Mac, outside of my very old, bought used, Macbook Pro. I want something that I can properly hook up to my current monitors and truly experience MacOS in its proper form.
@cliffwade Knowing that my venerable Mac Pro will need to be retired soon (it’s been out of the MacOS update cycle for about eight years now) and that I could just keep the old disks online externally, I’ve been tempted by a Mac Mini for a while. The new ones are even more tempting. Maybe at financial year end if I have the spare money around.
