My Dear Followers on Fediverse,

On this Mighty Friday, I''d like to share a little backstory to my song "Insurgency", also included in my debut album on Bandcamp:

I grew up in a pre-1998 Indonesia under the brutal Suharto dictatorship. I was still a kid at the time but I remember how the country was run by a military mafia that was led by General/President Suharto. Human rights abuses were committed at a massive scale. People went missing by the millions. And yes, Suharto was supported by the US and the Western Capitalists too (as their greed targeted our natural resources).

All this came to an end in May 1998 as the people of Indonesia had had ENOUGH!! Riots erupted all over the country, and through the power of the people uniting as one, that despot eventually stepped down after 32 years of dictatorship. We The People Brought Him Down. To this day, I'm amazed for the fact that the power of the people CAN actually accomplish anything we put our mind into, no matter how seemingly powerful the evil empire is.

Hence, my song "Insurgency" was inspired by the 1998 Indonesian revolution.

And you know what? It's not surprising that similar horrible patterns still exist in other parts of the world today. From Gaza to Ukraine, ordinary people suffer due to unchecked power possessed by a few elite human beings who think they can get away with mass murder and no accountability.

To all the Netanyahus out there, remember that you are a mortal, just like the rest of us. You Too Can Be Brought Down by the Power of the People, just like we did to Suharto.

To end this post, I'd like to share that I have been consistently donating to Gaza via the Indonesian charity called Baznas:

If you purchase my album or merch on Bandcamp, up to 10% of profits from sales will go to the people of Gaza:

Hello πŸ‘‹πŸΌ. I'd sincerely like to address everyone who wrote in the comment sections here: @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] My apology for the inconvenience of your names being included in the mass mentionings πŸ™πŸΌ. For sure I will remove your names in future taggings. A little background: I did learn about mass mentioning from people at a web 3 social media called DeSo, and over there it is a fairly common practice. But it seems after reading some of your comments, I notice that people on Mastodon do not practice mass mentioning for the most part, so again, I apologize for the inconvenience πŸ™πŸΌ. I'm new here and learning every day. To me, marketing is "not" marketing. It is connecting on a personal and sincere manner. Communication is key, and it has to be done on an honest level. I hold this principle dearly. I thank you all for your inputs, and I appreciate them all. You all have a wonderful weekend πŸ™πŸΌπŸ€ŸπŸΌ
