One great feature that Mastodon and Bluesky have that Threads doesn't is that their leadership doesn't congratulate fascists for accomplishing their goals.
@quillmatiq tbf Aleks Larsen of Blockchain Capital is RTing support for the "most pro crypto congress"
@quillmatiq @vmstan Is Jack no longer associated with BlueSky?
Jack Dorsey quits Bluesky board and urges users to stay on Elon Musk’s X

Twitter co-founder’s decision to leave rival social network he helped start was apparently unexpected

The Guardian
@quillmatiq @vmstan Interesting. Does he still have any interest in it (i.e., equity, shares, ownership, etc.)?
@ramsey @vmstan Nope! No longer associated in any way.
@quillmatiq @vmstan I haven’t used Bluesky since their radio silence over racist issues a while ago, and when they did finally publicly address the problem, it was too little too late. I assume Jack had some involvement in that, so maybe they’ve gotten better and are taking things more seriously now. I might have to check it out again.
@ramsey @quillmatiq yeah Jack is gone but now they have new blockchain/VC funding.

@vmstan @quillmatiq Oh, brother! 🤦‍♂️

Maybe I’ll stay away for a while longer, then. 😉

@ramsey @quillmatiq yeah that was within the last week or so. I’ve had an account for a while that I never even followed anyone with and then maybe two weeks ago decided I would just play with it a bit and try and get a better understanding from a competitive standpoint of how it works. Then that news came and I’ve basically not gone back 😆
@quillmatiq More Mastodon and the Fediverse than Bluesky
