Want an example of a broken system? Florida DIDN’T “reject” the proposal to include a right to abortion in the constitution — they voted 58.2% in favor of abortion rights. But it needed 60% to pass, so it failed WITH A MAJORITY.

Can’t imagine what Florida women must be thinking.

@BrentToderian Constitutional change should have a high threshold. I'm ok with a 40% veto.
@BrentToderian I can understand having a higher-than-50% threshold for constitutional changes, but I think it's inaccurate to say that voters "rejected" the measure in these circumstances
@BrentToderian Here in Missouri we passed Amendment 3 which puts abortion access into the state constitution, but also elected all republicans. Republicans who promised to find a way to not enact the amendment even if voters passed it. So, yeah.
@BrentToderian would love to see the demographic breakdown of the vote :(
