Broader commentary: this nation has forgotten what Patriotism is. Instead, it's devolved into a blind reverence (read: fascist) for the flag and its stars.
The nation we're told to be proud of was made for you and me.
The nation we're told to be proud of was one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
The nation we're told to be proud of took in your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.
The nation we're told to be proud of is dead. And the people telling us to be proud of it are the ones that killed it.
