I live near the local poll but haven't loved getting blown away and/or drenched in general election lines. I went for Michigan's new(ish) early voting option. Here it means driving to the next town; I gave it a few days then trundled over before ten.

Wow, a lot of people! So I still had to stand in line, lol. Someone grabbed my spot as soon as I pulled out, too. Honestly, Michigan should have had this long ago.

Early voting back in Indiana would involve standing under flickering fluorescents in a narrow, white-washed corridor in the basement of the county courthouse (one of those 1800s limestone edifices). Voting was individual only, at a grilled window in a tiny office off the end. Everyone in line would have to shift and flatten against the wall to make room whenever someone left. I enjoyed the horror movie ambience.
