I’ve been playing guitar for years and I thought I might try my hand at piano.

It’s not an easy instrument to pick up.

@dgar Imagine a plectrum for that...

@dgar

Don't feel too bad. I took skateboarding lessons because I heard the chicks dig guys with a big deck.

@dgar Tuning the piano every day is such a chore. Way too heavy for my knees, I’d settle for a harpsichord
@dgar And I bet there were strings attached
@BLA @dgar and if i've learned anything from Looney Toons, they're incredibly dangerous
@BLA @dgar but yeah on the guitar -> keyboard transitioning, while i can rock out on some keys, what annoys me about piano is you can't just wing it, when it comes to scales, the notes are relative on a guitar, with piano roll you need to learn each scale and who has time for that?
@dgar a flute sounds better to me
@dgar well yeah, I’d assume they’re pretty heavy
@dgar The weird thing about transitioning to keyboards after years of playing guitar for me was that guitar chords have static forms that you can slide up and down the fretboard. A C major can have the same chord form as a D major. But on a keyboard, they're entirely different hand shapes. Even more different when you root chords on black keys.
