It seems that Google Search Console data is now (somewhat) real-time.

With a little shock, I noticed some nosediving charts today. Only to understand later that the latest data is from TODAY.

Of course, it would be great to have almost instantaneous organic search data from Google. 📈👌

@frank Interesting that it isn't showing the same as if you switch to a timeframe of today - which shows the partially collected data and changes when finalised. I think this is showing the finalised number which is a shame as it will always be on zero! I have checked several sites, small and huge and all showing the same. Good news that they are still improving it though! #seo

@simoncox Good catch. I did not check various timeframes before for that data.

Interesting to see that they are showing the latest numbers they collected (timeframe of today => real-time) in all timeframes but the standard 3-month, where it is given as zero.

So, maybe this is still work in progress ...

@frank But it does look like we are getting data for yesterday which is a massive improvement from two days!

Having said that @johnmu has confirmed a bug and maybe we don't get to keep that!

Plus you get a mention here: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-search-console-performance-report-bug-38311.html - nice!

Google Search Console Performance Report Showing Almost No Data Today

Google Search Console's performance report seems to have a bug where it is showing almost zero data for today. I can replicate this across numerous Search Console properties, so maybe something is stu

Search Engine Roundtable

@simoncox @johnmu @rustybrick Somehow I am still not entirely convinced that this is a bug. At least I hope it is not, because my GSC data is still being updated and the updated click volume is even displayed on the overview page ...

#SEO #SearchConsole #google

@frank @johnmu @rustybrick

And yes my personal site is now showing Impressions for today! (not clicks - because I have nothing new for anyone. ha.) Was not earlier!

#seo

@simoncox @johnmu @rustybrick On another note, this may be a bug, as showing such a drastically downward trending graph may lead people to jump to the wrong conclusions.

So basically the data is correct, but it should not be shown in real time on the graph.

My hope would be that Google would let us have these most recent data anyway (via the timeframe selector) ...

@frank @johnmu @rustybrick

Well we all hope that, especially the people who will use it to test stuff out...

@frank @johnmu @rustybrick

Well I'm still getting fresh data in!
This is great news!

Interesting point though - it is probably all based on West Coast USA time not the sites target audience location, which may prove interesting and something we might have to factor in to analysis.

#seo

@simoncox @frank @rustybrick It's fixed now! I think. (I hope. (at least for my site (on my computer)))

@johnmu @frank @rustybrick

Yep - back to normal! Cheers John.

... and no more real-time GSC data 🙁
@frank Well you can still get that if you change the date to today but this way stops phone calls from clients that look at GSC one in a blue moon!
@simoncox You still get real-time data when selecting "Most recent date", Simon? I am only seeing data from yesterday, so everything has been reversed for me.

@frank Ah - oh yes it the 29th today - my mistake!

Am wondering if that changes though the day though - Its on Pacific time which is 7 hours behind me at the moment (8 from Nov 1) and the latest data is 5 hours old making it possibly on the cusp of showing data for today. :)

@simoncox My guess is that it is not dependent on the time zone. Yesterday around this time, we already had some updated data for that day, which got some refreshes even though the "Last updated" info did not change.

So I'm assuming it's a 100% reversal - Google has the data at hand, but unfortunately does not want to share it with us ...

@frank Yes you are probably right - i will be checking a little later though!

@simoncox Update: I can now see the data from yesterday on all my GSC accounts.

Keeping my fingers crossed that it will stick this time. 🤞

@frank @simoncox I'm not seeing it right now... hmmm... I mean, I can actively filter by most recent data, but that isn't new.

@rustybrick @simoncox For me the most recent data was always 2 days old. Now I see data from yesterday (Halloween).

As a result, I can start working on last month's organic search reports a day earlier ... 😀

@johnmu @simoncox @frank @rustybrick great, thanks for the update!

Now, should I send my cardiologist bill to Google CA or Google Zurich? 😂
