Observations of my Bluesky timeline after a bit over a week of "the big migration":

* Most of the Twitter users are back on Twitter (very unexpectedly /s)
* Some fedi users are now more active there than over here

@pixel Trying to do both, but it's hard when this timeline is still mostly tech (and programming) oriented while Bluesky feels more like ordinary Twitter topics.
Lots of people in my bubble dare not to try this but jumped on Bluesky immediately.

It's annoying, but either way I'm glad more people are leaving Twitter behind.

@zektus I mean, it was FOMO in parts because of it being invite-only this long and nowadays it works because it looks 1:1 like Twitter.

That said, most of the people I'm following that didn't fully abandon Twitter are back there again.

Not everyone went back, but most of them resumed regular posting.

@pixel In my opinion, the FOMO just hurt the activity on the site. I see lots of accounts who only posted once or twice 11 months ago ...

By now, I think some people have realized that putting effort into posting on something other than Twitter helps more people to do the same, hence me posting there, even if I was opposed at first.

Let's hope more people stick to alternatives eventually, even if we have to see this ping-pong game a few more times.
