I wouldn't call myself a progressive -- many years ago I noted that in 1974 I would be considered a 'Rockefeller Republican' and now I characterize myself as 'bog-standard petit bourgeoise' -- but in these latter days anything left of "let's build camps and fill them with immigrants and LGBTQ+ people" is characterized as a screaming socialist, so I get a lot of people telling me they will never buy my stuff again when I talk politics. Fuck 'em. I don't need their money. I need a decent country.

@jscalzi Bourgeois, in your instance. I get that we are pretty liberal with extra vowels, mind you. That tail 'e' would indicate the feminine, the 's' ending applies to both singular and plural masc.
