I see some GNOME people realizing something should be done about the negativity with GNOME, let me be clear on why that is. This doesn't apply to every dev but it's enough that it's viewed as the projects stance

GNOMECentrism: There are lots of things like xdg-decorations, Freedesktop icon themes, etc which are standards on every other desktop but because they're not adopted in GNOME they're not viewed as "real" standards. Dealing with these arguments over and over again is incredibly draining.
