The Sentinel was everything I hoped it'd be.

But I immediately had a hankering for it's predecessor and had to dig up a copy I could watch.

I remember when I wrote in the description of my list for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror this year: "I'm not *trying* to overload this year"

But, fuck it, I'm already 8 movies deep only 4 days in. Why not 9.

Anyhoo it's a BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch!

It's The Seventh Victim (1943), babie!

It's Saturday but I still have to go in to work today for a bit. Sadly can't cram the whole day full of Horror films for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror but I do have a triple feature scheduled for tonight because, of course I do.

For Night 5, a little bit of everything:
Stepfather 2 (1989)
Longlegs (2024)
Frozen (2010)

Finally done with work for the day and waiting on a pizza.

A little yearly traditional BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch in the mean time.

Gilda Radner starring in the wonderful Halloween Special, Witch's Night Out (1978).

Is it really Burd's #31NightsOfHorror if I don't watch this????

The original film is one of the earliest entries I ever did in one of my earlier Burd's #31NightsOfHorror.

Stoked for the sequel.
It's Stepfather II (1989)

So The Stepfather and Stepfather 2 absolutely are going on my Letterboxd Horror Duology list.

But now carrying on Burd's #31NightsOfHorror with something ultra recent. Nic Cage does a horror movie all over again in:

Longlegs (2024)

Longlegs is pretty good. I may not be as enamored with it as some but I enjoyed myself nonetheless.

I originally had Frozen (2010) up next but I'm pulling a famous Burd's #31NightsOfHorror audible and making a substitution.

Really was in the mood for something classic so...

It's The Lost Boys (1987)

A little daytime BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror with the weekly Evolution of Horror Podcast's Discord Watch-a-long.

Today is Roar (1982)

How on earth does something like Roar come into existence???

Well tonight for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror is going to see some changes due to in availability.

So multiple audibles. Needed something to put on while I think about what to do else and I thought of one of my new all time favorites.

Purana Mandir (1984)

My previous review of Purana Mandir on Letterboxd sums up just about everything I can say about it.

https://boxd.it/4b1e0x

A review of Purana Mandir (1984)

Love | Like | Indifferent | Dislike Samri has a great introduction. He is a little goofy but when they are reading off the list of demonic crimes, his demeanor, while in chains, is kinda like "yeah...what of it?". The club is dope. I'd want to hang out there. Great song too. Some things this film contains: Cursing A Beheading Overt Leering Pensive Hookah Smoking Star Crossed Lovering Caste Struggling Over Bearing Fathering Red Jacketed Gooning High Kicking Roundhousing Haunted Indoor Water Feature...ing Melodramatic Reveals Friendship Scooby-Doo Ganging Moody Music Rockin' Tunes Scary Face Jumpscares Creepy Caretakers Shirtless Training Sun

Love that ding dang movie. So much fun.

Alright mapped out a new option to watch next for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror tonight.

First time with All the Colors of the Dark (1972)

I really loved All the Colors of the Dark but I'm gonna maybe need to take another pass or 3 before I fully make heads or tails of that plot.

The next pick for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror is a return to a film that I saw for the first time during my very first attempt to do The Music Box Theatre's "Music Box Of Horrors" 24 Hour Marathon (I did not make it).

Dark Waters (1993) bore right into my skull. I even wrote & ran a Dungeon Crawl Classics ttrpg adventure entirely inspired by it.

Just one entry tonight for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror. Hosting a little screening on my personal Discord server.

Getting set up before The Old Dark House (1932)

Back for more Burd's #31NightsOfHorror. Funny enough, I've owned this movie for about a year because I inadvertently ordered it when I was trying to get my hands on the German horror film, Der Fan (1982) for last years 31 Nights.

I realized my mistake but I was like "Oh shit this has Lauren Bacall in it? Nice." So I kept it.

Anywho, it's The Fan (1981)

Well I frickin' absolutely loved that. The Fan hereby stays in the home library.

And now for another permanent resident of my collection to jump into Burd's #31NightsOfHorror as a BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch.

It's John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness (1987)

Night 9 of Burd's #31NightsOfHorror.

Cushing. Lee. The Mummy (1959)

Pretty alright time with The Mummy.

But I got another hankering for some Myers.

So for a Burd's #31NightsOfHorror BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch I decided to put on MY favorite Halloween entry.

That's right. Halloween II (1981)

๐ŸปFright in the Brites๐Ÿป is back again this week in the brewery for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror.

Tonight, we watch the superior entry in The Exorcist franchise:

The Exorcist III (1990)

A special Burd's #31NightsOfHorror tonight.

A secret getaway weekend with my literal oldest friends on this gods forsaken rock.

Broadcast Signal Intrusion (2021)

Pulling a last minute late night audible for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror on this weekend getaway.

Anywho:

Bloodsucking Bastards (2015)

Last night of the secret getaway. Tonight's Burd's #31NightsOfHorror is a tried and true classic. Wes was a Master of Horror.

Scream (1996)

Convinced the gang into a Burd's #31NightsOfHorror BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch.

Y'all, we are doing Ghostwatch (1992).

Shuffling a few things around. My Monday stream for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror on my personal Discord is now moving from today to Wednesday and so Tuesday's movie is moving to today and Wednesday's movie is moving to Tuesday.

Which is a whole lot of words today to say that tonight's movie entry WAS going to now be The Hitcher (1986). However, Max is the ONLY place it's streaming and Zaslav can suck a fucking egg. So...pulling an audible. Needed an easy one. So it's gonna be Hell House LLC (2015).

Tonight's pick for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror features everyone's favorite masked wrestler...SANTO!

Santo vs. the Vampire Women (1962) was an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000, though to say I remember watching it is questionable. Going to treat it like a first time watch but, certainly, MST3K gets the credit of being my first introduction to The Silver Mask, nonetheless.

The dubbed version goes by its alternate title, Samson vs. the Vampire Women.

Rarely have a bad time with a Santo film.

But I definitely need a BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror tonight to get the blood pumping.

Guess I'll give In A Violent Nature (2024) a shot.

Today has been a myriad of...well, let's just say today has been fucking dumb.

Doing an easy one tonight for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror. I will always adore:

Daughters of Darkness (1971)

Time for another ๐ŸปFright in the Brites๐Ÿป for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror.

Tonight's film, The absolutely under appreciated Pyewacket (2017).

Originally planned to see a 35mm print of Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II (1987) tonight at the Music Box but timing isn't going to work out and I'm gonna be spending the next 24 hours there anyway starting tomorrow.

Going to have to call and audible on tonight's Burd's #31NightsOfHorror watch. Not quite sure what that will be just yet.

Ok, Burd's #31NightsOfHorror audible call for tonight.

Gonna take a bunch of edibles and do the Night of the Demons trilogy.

My "Stoked for the Music Box Theatre's Music Box Of Horrors 24 Hour Marathon but also I struggle with anxiety" face.

No play by play posts for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror. But if you don't see a bookend post then....idk...I died or something.

I did manage to survive the full 24 once again. Another Burd's #31NightsOfHorror miracle.

Calling another Burd's #31NightsOfHorror audible tonight.

A criminally underseen absurd horror film.

If you haven't seen Death Bed: The Bed that Eats (1977), what the hell have you been doing with your life??? Go watch this! Do it now!

I...somehow still have some life in me post 24h fest. So fuck it. Burd's #31NightsOfHorror BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch

The absolutely absurd, brilliantly obnoxious softcore porno turned horror comedy:

DEEP MURDER (2018)

Something like 51 films into Burd's #31NightsOfHorror this year...with ten more days to go.

And this is me "taking it easy".

Tonight's Burd's #31NightsOfHorror has me streaming White Dog (1982) on my personal Discord server.

A recent discovery on my part that I immediately went out an bought a copy of.

Burd's #31NightsOfHorror Night 22:

My Best Friend's Exorcism (2022)

Still need to read the book but there really hasn't been anything attached to Grady Hendrix that I haven't liked.

My Best Friend's Exorcism is fun and quirky enough.

But now I need a BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror and I'm going with a film I've started but never actually finished.

Deep Red (1975)

The poster for tonight's Burd's #31NightsOfHorror pick has been unnerving and haunting me since its release.

Possum (2018)

Well that got under my skin and in my head...

Let's keep this uncomfortable train going with a BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch because Burd's #31NightsOfHorror will never stop.

Get fucked up on the streets of Chicago with:

All Jacked Up and Full of Worms (2022)

(Realized I never hit send when I wrote this)

Tonight is the second to last night of ๐ŸปFright in the Brites๐Ÿป at the brewery for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror

A properly fucking scary found footage film:

The Borderlands (2013)

Tonight's entries for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror are just going to be me ceding the decision making of what to watch over to #TheLastDriveIn on Shudder.

What will they be? Who knows!

Definitely don't need to sit through Late Night with the Devil again on the Drive In.

Guess I gotta punt and figure out what else to watch.

...you know, it DOES occur to me that, as someone who litterally does not watch sports, I use an awful lot of sports related words when taling about Burd's #31NightsOfHorror

Wound up doing an impromptu screening of Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988) on discord late last night as a Burd's #31NightsOfHorror BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch.

Entering that final stretch for the month!

For a just a brief moment I almost forgot this was an Adams family production before the title sequence. Then I was IMMEDIATELY reminded.

Tonight's first pick for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror

Hell Hole (2024)

Tonight's second scheduled film on this the 26th Night of Burd's #31NightsOfHorror is a cinematic mindfuck of the Ken Russell variety.

First time watching:

Altered States (1980)

I went with an unconventional Sunday morning BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror

It weirdly is working...

Scream 2 (1997)

Did a discord watch-a-long with the Evolution of Horror podcast of Arachnophobia (1990) as a BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch.

But now tonight's first feature for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror

A Hindi film about a new bride who is actually a cursed snake. Let's go.

Nagina (1986)

Nagina was so much fun that I have to call and audible and swap out my original planned movie for something more thematically linked.

So tonight's second entry for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror now is:

The Lair of the White Worm (1988)

Which also means more Russell. Fancy that.

Tonight's Burd's #31NightsOfHorror film is another watch streaming on my personal Discord server.

John Carpenter's Vampires (1998)

A first time watch for me. Put it off for sometime now.

Just a few nights left for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror

Tonight's entry is another first time watch:

Cure (1997)

Wanted an easy BOO-nus ๐Ÿ‘ป Watch for tonight and I couldn't think if anything better that Burd's #31NightsOfHorror staple:

WNUF Halloween Special (2013)

In previous years I'd be ramping up the amount of movies as I got closer to Halloween.

This year is much, MUCH more laid back.

Two beloved movies for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror All Hallow's Eve Eve. One is a goofy, dumb found footage masterpiece (your milage may vary) followed by christening a 4K Bluray released this year.

Bad Ben (2016)
&
The Crow (1994)

Well. We made it. Halloween 2024.

Its been a lovely little Burd's #31NightsOfHorror

But we still have one final ๐ŸปFright in the Brites๐Ÿป here in the brewery tonight!

There is really no other choice for tonight's viewing than the BIG OG:

Halloween (1978)

๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŽƒ

One final watch for the month. I often use this movie as a sort of Closing Ceremonies to Burd's #31NightsOfHorror.

It always feels like the perfect end cap.

The Cabin in the Woods (2011)

Happy Halloween.

Lots of love if you've read this far and didn't get sick of my movie shenanigans. ๐ŸŽƒ
