unbelievable to me that institutions like the washington post are rolling over in advance for an addled old man who is visibly falling apart before our eyes.

disgraceful

@jbouie

"Obeying in advance"

I only have a digital subscription, cost me very little, but seriously considering cancelling.

@FallsMom I canceled mine a couple months back over their mealy-mouthed editorial vacillating between the candidates, and switched to the Guardian. You should. It's the only way to get their attention and reduce their importance (although obviously I'm not expecting miracles).

@ThisAccountKillsFascists

Yes, I donated once to The Guardian but need to subscribe & make it my main read.

FYI, I pay 99 cents a month for WaPo digital! Crazy.

@FallsMom Yeah, the Post was cheap and had some good reporters, and the coverage of many things in American politics (to say nothing of local news) was more complete than the Guardian. Nevertheless...

*sigh*

@jbouie I agree, though the force of your criticism is diminished coming as it does from an employee of an org guilty of similar behavior - though to their credit, the nyt did clearly endorse Harris.

I've always been a fan of your writing and commentary, so please don't take this as directed personally. It's just that we live in times that are clearly challenging for journalism, and unless journalists can look critically at their own orgs first, their (just) criticism of others can sound off.

@jbouie But of course it was never just about Trump. He just focused and emboldened the hate. And it's going to stay focused and emboldened for a good long time regardless of whether he's in the picture.
@jbouie Boggles my goddamned mind.

@jbouie @jerilryan

Cowards. They would have bent knee to Hitler, for sure.

Canceled my sub.

Maybe it’s for President Vance that they are rolling over?
