The search for product-market fit (PMF) is the state when your product perfectly meets the market's needs. I would call it the "gold mine" on the market. From my experience, I can say that this is one of the most challenging and fascinating stages of any startup's development.

Here, both a clear marketing approach and a bit of luck are important. Over time, intuition comes into play, which is not always infallible but sometimes helps guess what people really need.

If you adhere to discipline and consistency in this process, the likelihood of success significantly increases.

However, in most cases, real data plays a crucial role. It is data that allows for the most accurate marketing forecasts. The more frequently and accurately data is collected and analyzed, the higher the likelihood of "hitting the target."

This is why the agile methodology, based on frequent iterations, is so popular today. It allows for the quick creation of a product, testing it on the market, and, after receiving feedback, starting the development of an improved version.

@fisher anothet issue is that bigger, existing companies will likely also spot that potential, so you have to beat them to it
@Blisterexe competition is the risk for sure!

@fisher i think the germans have an expression for when an idea is ripe, i noticed that happened with ai.

Google had an inhouse llm out like one month after chatgpt, it had clearly been worked on for a long time

@Blisterexe True! But still OpenAI i obviously leading and gained $157 B valuation in these years. Google's Gemini is far from being a good product in general.
@fisher true, but openai is losing a net of 8 billion a year lmao
@Blisterexe startups must burn money

@fisher oh for sure, i just dont see how they could EVER be profitable, conaidering they get to rent servers from microsoft at 1/3 the normal price, and people dont really want to pay for ai even while we are in this bubble.

Imo openai is gonna get subsumed into microsoft.
