@quicheindustries I love Quiche too. Small nip picks keep me on Safari most of the time though, like the lack of tab groups (I use them a lot) and not being able to swipe up to close tabs instead of tapping the cross. Over all there’s a lot more tapping in Quiche than on Safari which uses a lot more swiping gestures that make the experience feel much faster and smoother.
I guess the Safari muscle memory is too strong for me to switch entirely to Quiche 😅
@rfreling absolutely understandable. Safari put the bar so high with their convenient, smooth, and responsive gestures. So high that only Arc Search bothered to reach that level.
This year I’ve had two false starts trying to implement horizontal tab swiping. The result was not good enough, but a lot of code has already been changed on the current App Store version to make them possible. So I'm getting closer and intend to resume working on this soon. Third time's a charm! 🤞
@quicheindustries you’re welcome! Always happy to give feedback to great apps I use often ☺️
(are tab groups on the roadmap?)
@rfreling definitely yes, but cannot commit on any ETA unfortunately.
One thing for sure if as I redesign the tab switcher for gestures and such, I will take in consideration how to switch smoothly and quickly between tab groups. Safari got this a lot better on iOS 18, but I don't find it very satisfying.
