How is this legal?

@flexghost it’s not. However there’s something no one seems to be reporting on:

He literally controls the US Government’s access to space. From the ISS to launching military sats.

Until that changes, he’s literally untouchable.

@Dhmspector @flexghost the USG is way more powerful than #EvilElon Just a matter of political will ...
@RulesBuster @flexghost lol. Not true. SpaceX is literally a private company. The USG would have to try to nationalize it or somehow order musk to do its bidding. He could refuse and let the courts figure it out. The ultra conservatives in the court would side with Musk. End of story.
@Dhmspector @flexghost the USG can seize any asset it wants ... Declare national security interest, put it in conservatorship and #Elon will have no more access. SpaceX and Starling should easily qualify.

@RulesBuster simply not true. It’s literally in the US constitution that the government can’t just seize private property for public use without compensation (Eminent Domain).. it would have to work its way thru the courts.

The best the govt could do is invoke the defense product act, and even there Musk could assert that the USG could just tell NASA to get back in the business of building rockets and to keep its hands off of a private company.
