Yesterday marked the first public performance of "Time Takes Over" -- the first complete song I ever wrote, back in October 1988 -- since this February 1990 TMC + The New Generation show at the Green Parrot in Neptune, NJ. I'm on keys/lead vox in center while Tariq Mohammed is to your left and @ChristianBeach is to your right. I just remember having an awful cold that night (you can see me turning from the mic to cough at 3:44) 🤷♂️
TMC+The New Generation - Time Takes Over
Back in October 2018, I put together a 30th anniversary version of "Time Takes Over" built on top of the original instrumental cassette demo I made -- degradations and all. Vocals, a shaker part, a bass part (to augment the muted the original one on the tape) and the synth sax solo were the only things added in 2018. This is basically how it sounded when I first recorded the full version (which I have lost) when I was 17.

And while we're at it, here is the song that I originally intended to contribute to the @BlowUpRadio #BandingTogether 2024 compilation, "Eventually (Love is the Answer)." I meant to fix this one up and re-record the vocals and submit, but I was on my techno-industrial kick and went with "Don't Lose the Groove" instead. This version of "Eventually" was originally recorded in 2012 and it's pretty close to how it first sounded when I wrote it around 1989.
