I'm sure there's a longer discussion in here somewhere, but I think if I were to upgrade to a new iPad Pro, I would not get the keyboard case this time around. I feel it has disconnected me from what I did enjoy about the iPad experience, and just highlights how far the windowing, keyboard & mouse experience is from what I hoped Apple could achieve (which I no longer have confidence they have the means nor the intent to). Maybe it's time to let the iPad be iPad again?
What might change this calculus is if iPad gains support for virtualizing macOS or other OSes, or if a touch-optimized macOS replaces iPadOS someday on the pro models. But that day is not today
@stroughtonsmith What's the incentive for Apple to undermine the current UX paradigm of the iPad? It's not tablets running full Windows, which have never succeeded like the iPad has.
