how apple makes it easier for scammers: we just hide that ugly email address from you, what could possibly go wrong :3
@mntmn never understood the usecase of using this alias names for "masking" the email adresses. Whats wrong with the email adresses?
@mntmn apple is joining the google mindset.
@mntmn the new #Thunderbird for mobile does this as well by default. Really bad choice these days.
@harald @mntmn I don't know about Thunderbird, but in K-9 (on which Thunderbird is based) it is possible to disable "show name instead of email address" in the settings. I just changed it. 😉
@m2c_n3e @mntmn yes, same in Thunderbird and that should be the default
@mntmn
Gmail does this too, drives me up the wall - it takes me so long every time to work out how to see the damn email address 🙁
@mntmn Always check the header if in doubt.
@alison that's not possible in iOS apple mail.
@mntmn JFC that's scary as hell.
Note to self: Continue to not use this.
@mntmn that domain goes so hard though
@mntmn However, genuine emails from DHL are usually signed via S/MIME, and thus have a verified checkmark in iOS
@mntmn That sounds like something microsoft would do.
@mntmn weirdly here i never get any scammer emails ;_;
i hate apple in some other ways.. like whenever i have an áéőúüóöí in a file name it just scrables all and it makes it unrecognizible) this on ipad) also every app i use gets to sleep the moment i switch over or an app cant use more than 2gb memory as it would get killed( yes my idea was running gui linux somehow then waydroid inside xdd)
