you know what sucks? a google search for bughouse chess gives me a results page with a bunch of google bullshit I ignore, 1 wikipedia result, 1 reddit thread, and *seven* different pages on chess dot com before the more search results button
I think if a single website can dominate the search results for the name of a game that's at least 50 years old, something is wrong with the ranking algorithm
@iamevn related: imo the stupidest part of the google search page rank algorithm (it got leaked a little while ago) is the fact that in your example, the algorithm is looking for and actively discounting the domain bughousechess(dot)com without any information about its contents. It’s hardcoded to discriminate against the domain which matches your search exactly. That domain doesn’t exist in this case but it’s funny
