Moth Girl Amber Approaches!

Been thinking about my complaints and other complaints about Cohost- and ultimately a lot of the not-Twitter post-Twitter sites, and I keep coming back to the last bits of https://thenewinquiry.com/hot-allostatic-load/ , especially these few lines.

I've seen an unfortunate tendency towards saviorism. These websites, instead of being realistic improvements on what came before, get reframed as more pure and more moral websites- but are still subject to the same -phobias and -isms.

I find this extra tragic with queer online spaces because:

- Queer spaces are especially prone to reproducing the worst of white liberal feminism, often because said feminists get to educate queer folks first- even before other queer folks
- Trans women, even when you kick out the obvious TERFs, are still subject to transmisogyny via increased surveillance, higher standards, etc
- Trauma is rampant in queer spaces, and people are prone to lashing out

Anyway, I'm moving forward with a certain degree of cynicism towards social media platforms themselves. I have a lot of messy thoughts about this stuff I might keep posting from time to time.
