I got lazy to post this earlier, but I think it's worth it.

This is the wonderful "AI" magic of Google.

First shot is the french version, Tweet auto-translated by Google. Second shot is the original english version (also from Google).

If you don't know french, here's the very big problem here: the short excerpt mentions Obama going AGAINST Harris...

We're in 2024, and a translation algorithm has failed to translate a simple context like "for" and completely reversed the original intention.

I initially got so shocked by the original auto-translated version that I immediately clicked the link to check out the article... which revealed obviously, that the original context was completely broken.

Now, when you know that people share information without even reading the article OR that a lot of people tend to not master the target language... you end in a situation where these people are sharing an incorrect information just because of Google failing to properly translate something.

This is one of the reasons why, pretty much all big websites going full retard with their forced auto-translation features are pissing me off.

Worst thing is a big part of them can't be disabled ( Youtube, Reddit up until recently etc... ).

This is wrong, and leads to problems like this one. Let people read in whatever language they want AND fix your goddamn translation algorithms.
