gian@marioostolaza @dacig torrents are a method of file sharing and netflix in this context refers to a business model with loads of downsides worst than being a paid option. Torrenting in non-free environments is also a possibility
@gianclgar @marioostolaza One of the problems of Netflix, Spotify, Amazon and platforms in general is that the gatekeepers keep most of the profits. Torrenting woes as a P2P model, we could think of federated sharing of files, even of physical things. Free or paid. Cut the middleman and share among us, artists could get a fairer shared.
@dacig @marioostolaza yup, there are also concerns about not owning the stuff you pay for (they use to remove titles from a platform when another purchase its rights), having to pay different subscriptions to have acces to a catalog, content blocked by regions, etc
