lukewarm video gaming take: video games should be shorter because not every story needs to be told over the course of 70 hours
10 hours is fine
5 even
2 if you're brave
@chirpbirb More Game is definitely good but in some cases it definitely Drags Out for a bit too long. (Persona 5)
@root i loved all of persona 5 but it could have been half of the length and still gotten the story across tbh
@root also fuck replaying it is going to be a pain in the ass and it's why i keep putting it off
@chirpbirb replaying any persona game tbh
@root ur rite i keep putting off replaying 4 for the same reason
@chirpbirb what if the story isn't the primary focus (e.g. Celeste)
@chirpbirb don't get me wrong, Celeste has a great story, but the reason it has so much replay value is due to the gameplay
@iagondiscord i think the core story is told over a typical playthrough tbh, which isn't that long
@chirpbirb yes but I'm also thinking about mods
@chirpbirb there’s already a bunch of short games out there
Heck, the gaming landscape is really varied, and I think that’s a good thing
@chirpbirb this is the same industry that has like twenty "final" fantasies

@chirpbirb I'd be happy if they didn't make an anime episode out of every cutscene. *cough* Xenoblade Chronicles 3 *cough*

So many games stopped simply because I just went OMGSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP!

@chirpbirb outer wilds came to mind because i just finished it recently and i fucking love it. it took me 30 hours in total to 100%, 19 for the story, and that's considered a longer playthrough of the game because i just was slow at getting some stuff
@aeroCatharsis i still need to finish that game lmfao
