Thank FUCK for the queer and racialized heroes during the height of the HIV/AIDS crisis who drilled it into my young queer head that you *test* for things that can kill you or someone you love, or could change their life forever.
You wear *protection* when you know there's an illness in your community, because you love your community and don't want them to get sick.
It took years before you could reliably mass-test for HIV, and we got rapid tests in a few months. Imperfect as they are, they have saved lives during the five years of this thing, and the advice should *continue* to be test if you have cause to. We *all* interact with vulnerable people, whether we know it or not. If you have symptoms, test. If you think you've been exposed, test. Wear a mask in public. Consider your neighbours and keep them safe. For goodness sake, this isn't supposed to be this difficult.
