Forgot to post this—

I stopped getting Covid shots in 10/22 after my armpit blew up like a balloon. Amazingly, haven’t had Covid since (::knocks on wood::) despite lots of exposure.

We’re planning to spend lots of time in pubs in London so I figured I’d get another shot. Under the advisement of @mielcarz, I got the Novavax one. It’s a traditional vaccine and not mRNA.

ZERO reactions for me or Allie—not even the post-shot fatigue.

You can find it via Novavax’s website if inclined.

Cheers!

@chopaganda @mielcarz What did you end up planning for itinerary? Going to Edinburgh and/or seaside towns?
@claude @mielcarz 100% London now. Once we started planning the nitty gritty, we realized there is so much to do in London. Factor in two Arsenal matches and the week is going to be a blur.
@chopaganda @claude @mielcarz What is the technical reason for traditional vaccine vs mRNA? I stopped too bc Covid is not so bad anymore, not bc I am a closet antivaxxer.
@AG3rD @chopaganda @claude Novavax (a protein-based vaccine) gives fewer initial side effects than either Pfizer or Moderna (both mRNA), and if you have had a significant one like Chop’s giant lymph node then switching it up is a good idea. Otherwise there is no real reason.
