@JillsJoy I do the "original hem" method where you trim but then sew the original hem back on so it still looks like a normal jeans hem with the wear marks and yellow threading. It's more complicated (and that's how I broke a needle - sewing over doubled up jeans hems is really hard and you have to go very slow or even manually crank the machine instead of using the pedal) but looks way better.
