@jsparber Kudos for setting this up, I find it extremely inspiring to see various local #GNOME one-off events and communities pop up in different places. My dream is to set up something similar up here in the cold North one day.

How did the app thing go? Did you manage to get something running?

Also I wish that one day the #gnomefoundation can (partly) sponsor travel costs also to these small events, at least for low-income or no-income participants (like students, I wonder if we should organise better, I feel like sometimes we could defend our interests/situation better together)
