they're canceling godot for being woke

people "stopped donating" and made godot earn more money because of normal people learning about the engine from this and backing it

they forked and are already 50 commits behind
cause half their team doesn't use godot and has no idea what to do

the other half uses it but doesn't know anything about the engine code

their landing page is a squarespace template with the text changed to "redot"

never change, culture war, never change.

Fedi still needs a lot of work to do for us users, but it's hard for me to get used to these kinds of inflammatory statements. I know the development can be slow or even foolish sometimes, and I know that many of us on Fedi can be too much like extremist vegans, but it's ultimately hard to get mad at a place with such comfy communities. It's one of the few places where we have to blame the platform's drama on ourselves instead of its creators or an algorithm.
