Moving on from George Romero to Wes Craven. That's right, it's time for #ANightmareOnElmStreet!
If I'm being completely honest, I think this is the movie I can credit with my love of horror. I was way too fucking young when I saw it, and it absolutely terrified me, gave me nightmares, the whole nine. But I also really loved it.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) Official Trailer - Wes Craven, Johnny Depp Horror Movie HD

My eldest brother got a VHS from (if memory serves) one of his friends, and it had this on it. My other brother (who is much closer in age) and I were forbidden from watching it, but we didn't listen. We wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and, one weekend, we waited until the right moment to sneak it. Probably a bad decision on our part. 1/?

We got in a bit of trouble for it, but the thing I remember most is my Dad basically saying "That's what you get for not listening," like we were full-grown adults and not, like, five and seven-year-olds.

I'm going to attempt to watch all of these movies, by the way. I've tried before, but couldn't force myself to get through them all. This one is excellent, and they each take a significant nosedive in quality as they go. Let's see how far I can get! 2/2
