Camellia Tea Ceremony🗺️🤔THE QUEST TO CATCH 'EM ALL🕳️✨
In 2018 Kagoshima was the first prefecture in Japan to have Pokéfuta (ポケふた) installed. Pokémon manhole covers can now be found in 37 prefectures!
I went to Uji to catch the latest 2 to appear in Kyōto.
1)
🎊A spring themed Pichu, Cleffa, and Igglybuff (ピチュ/ピィ/ププリン) are be found at Maruyama Kōen, close to the park's famous weeping cherry tree.
2)
🎊Cyndaquil and Darmanitan's (ヒノアラシ/ヒヒダルマ) home is in Okazaki Park, a stone's throw from Heian-jingū's grand Ōtenmon.

🎊The legendary Ho-ō (ホウオウ) spreads it wings in Arashiyama Park, a short walk from the iconic Togetsu-kyō (渡月橋).

🎊Totodile and Azumarill (ワニノコ/マリルリ) are very close to the entrance of the Railway Museum (京都鉄道博物館) in Umekōji Park (梅小路公園).

🎊Chikorita and Shiftry (チコリータ/ダーテング) greet visitors to Nishikyōgoku Park, a large sports venue to the south west of the city. Katsura Detached Villa (桂離宮) is a short bike ride away.
In June this year two more Pokémon manhole covers appeared in Uji, the home of matcha in Japan.
Both are within easy walking distance of the Keihan Uji Station (and not particularly far from the JR Uji Station).

🎊What more fitting Pokémon could there be for Uji...
👻Poltchageist, a tea ceremony master who died before perfecting his craft and now haunts a caddy of matcha (チャデス).
🍵Sinistcha, a creature that pretends to be tea in order to drain his victim's life-force (ヤバソチャ).
The manhole cover can be found within the recently developed 'Uji and Tea Town Historical Park' (お茶と宇治のまち歴史公園), where you can see small tea plantations and a visitor's centre that doubles as a museum and exhibition space.

🎊Just before the approach to Uji-jinja, close to a statue marking The Tale of Genji's (Uji set) final 10 chapters, Scorbunny and Spinda (ヒバニー/パッチール) can be found.
And this is the last of the current Kyōto Pokéfuta (ポケふた).

Just when you think you've visited all the Pokéfuta, another one pops up.
This week was the official opening of the Nintendo Museum (ニンテンドーミュージアム) in Ogura, and unsurprisingly a new Pokéfuta was unveiled to celebrate.
Pikachu (ピカチュウ), a gameboy, and a Pokémon GO Plus+ feature on the Nintendo Museum's manhole cover.
A word of warning...you will only be able to see this Pokéfuta after paying to enter the museum (it is beside the umbrella stand area).
