Adobe might claim its illegal to use an old version of Photoshop from before they went SaaS but they can't stop you
@eniko next they'll claim it's illegal to wait outside of their favourite bar around closing time, with a bat
@eniko wait what
Adobe Tells Users They Can Get Sued for Using Old Versions of Photoshop

"You are no longer licensed to use the software," Adobe told them.

VICE
@eniko ah right, that thing. afair, adobe licensed some stuff, and doesn't want to pay for it anymore. I don't see how that's my problem.
@sol_hsa @eniko I guess it could be our problem if Dolby 7.1 refers to the 7 seas that it surrounds in sound.
@eniko I think it was Adobe who used to (maybe still does?) inject meta data into your image saves to highlight the version of Photoshop you used to create the image with. So if you had a trial/cracked copy, it'd literally include a meta block in your jpg telling the whole world you'd been naughty.

@eniko Almost every day I double-click a .psd file by mistake, which starts launching Photoshop 2024. In the time that it takes to launch PS2024 I can manually launch Photoshop CS6, drag in the .psd file, make the change and export it.

The software just keeps getting more and more bloated.

@eniko
They just want all your money. Is that so much to ask?
@eniko jokes on you Adobe I didn't pay for that Photoshop version either, it's piracy all the way down
