Every time:
Me: Sends mum a link about corporate malfeasance, climate crimes by billionaires, etc.
Mum: Responds with weird 300+ word rant about the WEF, UN, WHO, and HAARP, plus link to a YouTube about the coverup of Alien remains by the CIA.

Should I:

"Should" seems less likely to work out.

Are there any areas of common purpose between you and your mother?
You mention childen.
Are meaningful conversations around them possible?
What would happen if you cordoned off all discussion about what triggers her and refused to engage with her conspiracy-stuff? As in just refuse to go there? And keep offering engagement around the children and any other mutaully fulfilling topics?

@skua your suggestion is good, unfortunately it's the first thing I tried, and the collateral damage was too high - what was left was all "trivial shit" ( because as with most folks down the rabbit hole, the media they consume has taught them to bring every topic quickly round to one of the conspiracy nodes). This approach HAS worked with a couple of friends, and allowed the friendship to survive in reduced form 👍

I was estranged from both parents for over 10 years. Then one had a bleed on the brain and needed support.
I'm thinking separation can be "in place" and maybe temporary and good enough.

@skua whereas I'm going for one of the flavours of "maintain the connection no matter what", just need to figure out the tolerable level.
Complete estrangement must have been hard even if it was easier than the other choices.
