@memes lavender doesn’t look anything like that.
@memes new wood type = new tree type = 7 years of content for tree farmers
@memes Tbh, I think Minecraft updates nowadays are overhyped. The entirety of Minecraft Live was only about the movie and the two new drops (the first one barely adding anything) but it was presented as a big deal. Speaking of the drops, imagine being so hyped to bring bundles and hardcore in one update to give it a name. Imagine if Alpha v1.0.14 was called Clucks and Carts for example. I just want drops to be treated like nice little goodies instead of big revelations.
@bluestaggo @memes i am gonna say that the changes per update have not gotten higher than in the 1.13 update
@annaaurora maybe with the exception of 1.16
@memes I think y'all missed the entire point, this is supposed to be a smaller update but the next one will come much faster with some more new content
@Sparkwave @memes same for 1.20 and 1.21 and 1.19 and 1.17 and
@alicedotjpog @memes Well, no
They never announced that updates will be this much shorter before
They said that they'll have secondary, smaller updates in 1.19
But now they basically said "we'll have smaller updates more often instead of big yearly updates"
The Minecraft community wanted them to drop the yearly updates all this time and now that they did, the community is angry?
@Sparkwave @memes problem is the big yearly updates were the size of the smaller updates
@alicedotjpog @memes Yeah, so the hope this time is, they'll add more varied content more often
I doubt the updates will be bigger, because they probably spend 90% of their development time on Bedrock, but hopefully them being more common will offset it
If not, oh well, but at least they're trying something different than they already have, so they're trying to eat the cake and have it too
The real infallible solution would be to not develop Bedrock anymore, but Microsoft won't allow them to do that
@Sparkwave @memes all of this could have been fixed if they just converted java to be multiplatform instead of making a whole new game

@alicedotjpog @memes Correct (Java already works on other OSes out of the box, just needs some controls adjustments and such), but Microsoft wants their own, less moddable, more microtransaction filled version, and they focus on that one because it brings them way more money, so Mojang kinda just has to conform, and is probably not allowed to port Java Edition

Edit: Actually, if Java was ported to console and mobile, it'd probably get the shitty Microsoft Store as well, selling this IP to Microsoft was Notch's biggest mistake

@Sparkwave @memes nah you gotta respect the grind, but the microsoft acquisition was the worst thing to ever happen to minecraft
@Sparkwave @memes tbh the store isnt that big of a deal its just there its not like your forced to buy shit from it
@memes

I mean it could still be
their biggest update. Didn’t you know other devs did the other bigger updates.
@memes i love Juan i wish he was real
@memes Literally 1.22 (despite them saying "we will add less and release more often", a lot of people still feel disappointed)
@memes I legit want to see a mod that adds this hypothetical update to the game.
