Nobody will remember:
- your salary
- how busy you were
- how many hours you worked

People will remember:
-that time the waitress said "enjoy your meal" and you said "you too"
-you hoped nobody noticed
-everybody noticed
-they think you're so dumb

@lowqualityfacts I've noticed some waitresses are using techniques to avoid this situation, but for the life of me I can't remember any of them
@lowqualityfacts but you’re not dumb, so you didn’t let it upset you. And then you grew up to be a superhero, and the ones who thought you were dumb are really sorry now.
@lowqualityfacts This happens to me, but with "Happy birthday."
@lowqualityfacts I love the little journey this post took me on

#TrueStory: 30 years ago at a BBQ restaurant somewhere near RTP, NC, some work colleagues and I went to lunch. I ordered an iced tea.

Waitress: Will that be Sweet Tea?
O: Wow! It's not everywhere that I get called "Sweety"!
W: What do they call you at work? "Asshole?"

Yep. These are the things they will remember.

Notes:
1. I'm sure I thought I was funnier than I actually was.
2. I'm pretty sure this is still the case.

Get on the bus naked this morning; someone will remember that.
@lowqualityfacts obsessing about "legacy" is just hubris in extreme. Being more concerned about what comes after, removes you from the present, the point in time that really matters. ask any spouse, child, parent, left behind by by the "busy" absent . they will tell you, "I would have just wanted to spend more time with them"

@lowqualityfacts

They'll also remember if you arrived 10 mins late and if you left 10 mins early.

@lowqualityfacts I said this to the delivery guy, but there were no witnesses, so I'm clean. It was vietnamese food, by the way.
@lowqualityfacts having worked in food service, happens constantly and nah, we forget a minute later because we get it
@lowqualityfacts
In Italy (so I'm told) the normal answer to "buon appetito" is "altrettanto".
Get over it.
