BUT here's an interesting quirk that I just found that seems to inadvertently bypass the Brisbane Times (and all Fairfax/Nine sites) paywall.

Simply enable "strict" tracking protection in Firefox. It works by blocking cdn.tinypass.com/api/tinypass.min.js
