Comedian John Mulaney roasts SF techies at Dreamforce

"Let me get this straight," he said. "You're hosting a 'future of AI' event in a city that has failed humanity so miserably?"

The San Francisco Standard

@llorenzin I love John Mulaney.

His special after returning from rehab was, actually and truly, special.

The description of his intervention was one of the funniest and real things I've ever listened to.

@llorenzin one question remains: Is there a recording?

@llorenzin The final two paragraphs are great.

"Mulaney then shared an anecdote about how he and his son, who is nearly 3, like to play baseball in their front yard.

ā€œWe’re just two guys hitting Wiffle balls badly and yelling ā€˜Good job’ at each other,ā€ he said. ā€œIt’s sort of the same energy here at Dreamforce.ā€"

@ksir oh yeah, that definitely lands. Altho my personal favorite was ā€œThe fact that there are 45,000 ā€˜trailblazers’ here couldn’t devalue the title any more.ā€ šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„

@llorenzin

"The fact that there are 45,000 ā€˜trailblazers’ here couldn’t devalue the title any more."

John Mulaney gets it. This is exactly what I keep trying to say about "thought leaders". Everyone can't be a "thought leader", because if they are that term means nothing. At which point, I distinguish myself by NOT calling myself a "thought leader". 🤣
