Crowdfunded effort (led by the awesome Cards Against Humanity folks) bought a tract of pristine land in Texas near the Mexican border a few years ago to prevent development (such as a border wall), and to leave it in a natural state.

This year, Space X unilaterally started building on the tract, without anyone's permission, causing irreparable harm to the natural state of the land. Not cool, says the owner.

Hilarity currently en-suing. https://www.cahsuesmusk.com/

Elon Musk Owes You $100 • Cards Against Humanity Saves America Day 7

Elon Musk stole your land, and now he owes you $100.

@mattblaze I read the complaint. Were I on the Space-X side I'd move to dismiss it on the grounds of lack of specificity. And were I the judge I would grant such a motion, but with leave to amend.

The complaint is written more as a press release than an adequate legal document. The complaint ought to contain enough specifics to support the asserted causes of action. But this complaint did not allege any specific acts of Space X on specific CAH lands. Rather than photographs that were not tied to maps of properties. It would have been a lot better to use that space in the complaint to enumerate specific trespasses and abuses by Space-X to specific properties owned by CAH.

@karlauerbach i don’t know anything about Texas civil procedure or real estate law, but in general a civil complaint does not have to include much evidence. It is probably sufficient at this stage to lay out the specific things you’re seeking relief for. The goal is to put the other paty on notice, and stop the various statutes of limitations and adverse possession clocks.

This seems like a good one for a
