Sounds like piracy to me. The music industry is s nest of vipers so these days I mostly listen/watch YT videos via Freetube (no ads) or use a YT downloader to grab tracks to play where I want. I'm conscious that this does nothing for the artists though so if it's a band I really like I'll order a proper DRM-free CD. This one for example https://deamatrona.co.uk/
