Godfall, a poem about something bigger than whale fall.

When a god is killed its carcass lingers;
beyond destruction but not decay it leaks,
carrion for the fodder and the worm-life;
as much as leeches drain more can bleed
and putrid relics answer voiceless prayers,
dreams touched by shades without design;
the flesh can die but godhood defies.
