In the "Lord's Prayer", the well known phrase "Give us this day our daily bread", has a surprising secret. In the original greek, the word translated as "daily" is a word, "Epiousion", that is unique. It is known no where else in ancient greek. Translating it has no consensus. Literally translated, "epi-" is a prefix meaning 'on top of', and -ousion' means "being". 'on top of being'. Some translate it as "super necessary", "supersubstantial", and even "the <thing> of tomorrow". The 'thing' of the coming age, ie immortality. Is this 'bread' just another form of the ambrosia of greek myth? I feel like there are so many hidden connections between things at times.
