An upcoming update will rework a bit how live timeline update works:

The ticker will not automatically stream new posts automatically. Posts deletion and updates will still be done live, but now you’ll need to pull to refresh to load new posts in. This is done to improve the app performance and remove stutter while scrolling.

Of course, the timeline will update automatically when you return to the tab or resume the app from the background.

@IceCubesApp when I hit the home button, I'm no longer bumped to the top of my timeline. Can I get that back please?
@myfear Coming back in the next update indeed

@IceCubesApp @myfear
Thanks for this, but please let it come soon. 🥺

The missing „jump-to-top-of-timeline“ function really drives me nuts. 🫣

@IceCubesApp Sounds good.

1.10.51 App Store listing says it works with iOS18 but I’m having some issues (multiple blank notifications, sharing a toot as image and a stuttter when tapping to view some toots). Are these known issues?

@IceCubesApp Sounds good and reasonable and I appreciate every change that will improve performance, give me more control, and possibly save bandwidth.
While we're at it: could you give us a switch to turn off this?
Because it has absolutely no value for me and why waste the bandwidth?
@IceCubesApp Would it be possible to have a setting for this? I don't experience any stutter or bad performance, but I do appreciate the feeling of the live-update the current versions have
@lobidu Unfortunately, the live update and iOS 18 tend to break more than iOS 17, hence why I disabled it. But I’m sure I’ll find a way to have it back at some point.
@IceCubesApp will the position be kept when new posts are pulled in?
@IceCubesApp such a shame. I had to switch to a new app due to this change :/
