Bart Decrem18.1 photo intelligence is super garbage for me. It’s never done any of the things you would expect it to do (search for text in a screenshot, or “dog at restaurant" for instance)

@ostyn i wonder if it’s to do with the icloud sync’ing of pics. it constantly says “Indexing Your Library”. let me see if I can give it a good kick.
@bart Yes! It has to fully index your library to work. Have you just recently updated/have a *lot* of pictures?
@ostyn 18,000. Is that a lot? It’s been indexing for about a month now...
@bart That seems like a lot to me. I have ~5000 images and it took about a week to fully index.
@ostyn hmm, spent a few minutes looking into this. the whole reason I pay for iCloud is to not have to deal with separate storage backup for pics, so I don’t love any of the options (turning off Optimize iPhone Storage would lead to 110 GB of pics/videos on my phone; turning off iCloud means i no longer have my pics in the cloud...) on balance, beaching about Apple Intelligence being a joke seems like the best, most fun alternative)
