So I don't know if I've noticed this simply because I'm in college or whatnot. But why is it that women often make friends with just women? It could be a social thing or something but I'm not really sure and I've always been curious about it. Also, why is it that they always go in groups of like 5 or 6 whenever they go somewhere? Seems a little excessive but who knows? It could also be a social thing I just don't understand. Does this happen in a professional workplace as well? I'm genuinely looking for answers as I've noticed this every time.
@rooktallon @gocu54 It can also be a safety thing. If you go out in groups, you've got someone who'll notice if you're not with them and go looking for you. Less chance of being raped, someone keeping an eye on your drink if you go for a dance, or keeping you safe if you've had you drink spiked with something, or someone's stealth injected you with something which is getting more common. It can also be a social thing. Personally for me going round with 6 people all the time sounds bloody exhausting 😂
@Heartflux @gocu54 I mean I never thought of that but I'm about as much at risk as any woman then since 1, I'm blind and therefore more likely to get spiked, 2, I'm short so defending myself is basically an impossibility without dying, and 3, I don't recognize social cues well so who knows if someone has bad intentions or not? Should I then get 5 or 6 people to go with me to the bar or whatever? Probably yeah. But it ain't gonna happen because I'm not a woman.
@rooktallon @Heartflux Dude, we're really not that short.
@gocu54 @Heartflux Yeah but you gotta admit we ain't mountain men like basically everyone around us either. 5-4 is short, no getting around that.
@rooktallon @Heartflux You don't need to be a fucking giant to be able to defend yourself man. You act like tall men don't get abused. They totally do. Being tall doesn't automatically mean you're superman.
@gocu54 @rooktallon Sorry if I accidentally replied a bunch of times, my client went down for a minute. It is possible to defend yourself yeah. I mean when you're the level of short that I am (about 4 foot 6 or so) you do need to be taught, and this stuff really should be more easily available than it is.
@Heartflux @rooktallon Oh wow! I've never met anyone that short, but yeah, it can be taught, just ask the silva brothers. Thre are many ways, and depending on the state, you can legally get a pepper spray or taizer.
@gocu54 @rooktallon Yeah I'm pretty sure you can't in Australia, I'm curious now and will look! lol. But also we'd probably be refused sale because blind. The laws and health and safety regs are very different over this way. I could probably get pepper spray though.
@Heartflux @gocu54 Are there not disability protections in australia? Damn, in AMerica, we can not be refused service simply because of our disability without them being open to a lawsuit. Blind people can buy guns and cars as long as we have people to drive the car and as long as we have our gun license. But the fact that we couldn't reasonably use the car has nothing to do with the fact we're blind to the seller, we don't have our licenses.
@Heartflux @rooktallon That's different but I guess it kind of makes sense, though I've personally shot guns safely.
