@Tacitus @NatureMC @jerry @suricat Yeah. That's the other thing. If you hit viral you're screwed. A lot of the big boys don't survive it even. And that's not even bad traffic. I've helped fight off ddos and it sucks. So some sort of distributed exchange like torrent would be needed. I2P is, I believe, sort of based on this concept. There's freenet too, which is a distributed store basically.

@crazyeddie at this point, it's tough to operate a website that isn't behind a CDN. Simply having someone include your link in a fediverse post can result in tens of thousands of hits within a minute or so. @Tacitus @NatureMC @suricat
