Big cheer to our local hospital staff.
Hanging out at the beach enjoying a sunny day which could be one of the last beach days of the summer.
An asshole wasp snuck into my metal straw, unbeknownst to me. Took a sip of my ginger ale and sucked up the wasp. Stung me on the tongue!!
I now carry a mini first aid kit with Reactine in it as per my Drs recommendation a few days ago after being stung a week ago.

2/3 So I pop 2 Reactine and can feel my tongue swelling so I get my sister to drive me to the ER. I cut to the front of the line (so not like me) and they see me right away. Long story short, it was a good thing I had my kit and then went to the hospital.

3/3 Almost 4 hours later, I’ve had a host of drugs, epinephrine, an IV of fluids and the swelling has come down and the drs are happy with the progress. I may be able to go home soon after they evaluate me again in about 30 minutes.

Excellent care with kindness and compassion. I’m also so thankful for universal healthcare!!
