Mass shootings in the US:

2014: 273
2015: 336
2016: 383
2017: 348
2018: 336
2019: 417
2020: 610
2021: 690
2022: 647
2023: 656

So far in 2024: 385

We do not have to live like this. No other country on the planet does.

I'm a Brit. I don't understand how a law about a 'well regulated militia' force justifies mass unregulated gun ownership. Lots of countries in Europe have reserve forces whose members keep service issue guns and ammo at home. In locked cabinets. To be used only when ordered by a superior.

The gun nuts always ignore the first half of the Second Amendment. Instead of a well regulated militia, they want criminals, extremists and terrorists to have unrestricted access to guns.

@mcv
Well yeah nuts will be nuts but why do the states and federal governments tolerate it? It seems like the US is still living the 19th century wild west fantasy.

It's not a 19th century wild west fantasy, it's a caricature of one.

Who do governments tolerate it? Because the gun lobby is well-funded and powerful.

@mcv
Be nice to see a president tell the NRA 'thanks for the money guys but I'm still going to ban guns'. What they going to do? Sue for failing to take a bribe, or start a war?
