I think it's the lack of education that has caused the issue.

Point in case, the grasp of the English language.

"Cars have fucked up this country, BADLY"

Cars have badly fucked up this country.

But a better sentence would be

Cars have ruined this country.

@AzureCerulean @kottke the title isn't ambiguous, and the nonstandard English is easily understood. It's not an academic paper held to rigid standards, so I don't see an issue.
