If I remember correctly, pilots don't get paid until the plane is in the air. This is why a flight that can be delayed on the runway for hours has to turn back to the gate because the flight attendants would be over hours, but not the flight crew (who, technically, haven't been working). Honestly, the whole industry is bonkers.
@amydiehl reminds me of when amazon employees who had to wait over 30 minutes for 'security screening' for their shifts sued to be paid for that time - and lost
we really hate workers and poor people in this country, and we love to pretend we care.
@amydiehl I worked several jobs in retail that would do this. You have to get there at a certain time, usually half an hour before opening, but you didn't start getting paid until it opened.
This should very much be illegal..
@amydiehl if I'm in a building or vehicle on someone else's say-so, wearing some bullshit they required me to wear, performing tasks they told me to perform, they're paying for every minute.
Absolute bullshit that these people aren't getting their wage.
Any cops looking into that theft of the flight attendants pay?
No?
Too busy rousting people living in tents, I guess.
