So I’ll be modding a couple #playstation one consoles. The one on the left is mine and a much more common unit. The one on the right is an early launch unit and belongs to @EatYourSheep - neither of us realized that the laser assembly was rotated around like this. The logic board is also quite different. Thankfully the #xstation Optical Drive Emulator has little breakout boards for both the PU-18 (mine) and the PU-8 theirs in the bag. Both machines will be getting replacement power supplies, full re-cap service, deep clean and of course the ODE. I may eventually do an HDMI mod to mine but will leave it as is for now. #retrogaming

@kiteless @EatYourSheep My xstation has been excellent, good luck with your install! Sadly it seems like development of the firmware has all but halted, the most recent update is from well over a year ago. Unless I missed something and they shifted the releases elsewhere.

Glad to hear yours has served you well. Castlemania Games stopped selling these but thankfully I was able to find another seller. Honestly the lack of active development doesn't bother me as long as it's feature complete. I've heard that as it is now it's more or less 100% compatible with any ISO. Cheers! Excited to get going on this project.
